Honest Finishing Course

This was a great course! I appreciated that it was real time and that actual techniques were shown - not like many YT videos where it leaves you guessing. I also appreciated that he gave examples of what types of projects each finish was better suited for. As a woodworker with moderate experience (not a beginner, but also not an expert), there were things that I already knew (or at least thought I knew), but I feel that I learned a lot in the 4+ hours of the course. I would recommend the course to anyone unsure or still trying to figure out which finishes to use. Well worth the time.

This is a fantastic course. It can get so overwhelming when you start looking into the many different finishing options out there, and generally you just see people using or recommending things without talking about why that would be the right (or wrong) choice for the project you have in mind yourself. This course explains all the basics so you can make good decisions.

Jon does a great job with this class. It was very helpful to watch him in real time finish a piece. I am glad he left the oops and everything in. It helps to know how to deal with problems and that perfection is a myth.

I can easily see a second class would be possible. It might cover how to do larger pieces in sections, fixing mistakes, blending materials, and any questions that came up on this one.

I know lighting is hard for this but a raking light view would help sometimes.

Even going through their other course and all his youtube videos, this finishing course has fully answered all the questions I had. He promotes such a nice atmosphere and always encourages you to try and see what suits you. Highly recommended if you've been sitting on the fence about finishes.
