No Bullsh*t. Kinda Funny. Woodworking.
Growing up I was surrounded by talented family members who could build just about anything, from custom moldings to an entire 30 ft boat. But in typical kid fashion, I didn’t have interest and paid no attention! My journey started later in life. After closing on our first house, I followed in the same footsteps as so many before me and made the mistake of saying out loud “I could build that cheaper”. A Kreg Jig, borrowed miter saw and a lot of profanities later, I was hooked. There was nothing I couldn't pocket hole together. I quickly started acquiring tools, used my back patio as a temporary shop of sorts and stored everything in my shed when not in use. I even joined our local guild to take classes and gain access to all the toys I couldn't afford.
A couple kids, a wonderful wife and many tools later, Lincoln St Woodworks was formed. Originally there was no intention of focusing on content creation, but like most things in life – it never goes according to plan. After a long furlough during the pandemic lockdowns, my priorities started to shift, and I began to envision a different future for my family.
Despite YouTube being saturated with woodworking and DIY channels, I felt confident I could carve out my own space by being practical, getting to the point quickly and infusing a little bit of humor. Three things I like to think come somewhat naturally to me. And just like that – “No Bullshit. Kinda Funny. Woodworking” was born.
I have no idea what the future holds for the channel and even if I tried to plan things, it would most likely go in a different direction. But I do know that our family is so appreciative to everyone who watches the content, engages within the community and helps support the channel in any way they can.
I would be lying if I said ‘thank you’ for allowing us to live out our dream – because this was never the plan. But a big ‘THANK YOU’ for allowing us to take a chance and I truly hope our videos put a smile on your face and inspire you to go make a bunch of mistakes!
Cheers, Jon
